"Tryouts" are just the official term for our teaming period, where all players are invited to attend so that coaches can best determine the appropriate team for each player. Players are not cut at tryouts nor are they cut based on skill. Players are evaluated to determine the best fit for them to grow and develop with the primary default teaming by birth year.
Our tournaments offer a unique playing environment for Competitive teams. Games are played on the emaculate Burlington RecPlex fields, and brand new soccer specific FunCity Turf Indoor Field. Burlington and the surrounding area offers plenty of restaurants, hotels, parks, and other leisurely activities and amenities during the tournaments. Teams are appropriately matched in their divisions to provide the best competitive experience. Be sure to register your teams early as our tournaments do have a limit to the number of teams we are able to host. You do not want to miss out on some of the best tournaments in the Midwest!
SESA hosts various youth and adult leagues throughout the year. The leagues offer playing options for all players in the area regardless of season or player ability. In our mission to grow the passion for soccer in our community, we acknowledge that providing affordable programs throughout the year is a great way to have more players exposed to and involved with soccer. Our programs are partnered with the YMCA and are played at the Burlington RecPlex, and FunCity Turf indoor facility. Previously many of these programs were only available in larger cities that required extra travel, or were very expensive. Our goal is to bring high quality programs to Southeast Iowa at a fraction of the cost of comparable programs.
SESA has been developing college level players since its beginning. Since 2015 there have been more than 75 local SESA players playing at various college levels. With college players at every level of the game, from NJCAA to NCAA D1 and NAIA. SESA is a destination for developing college players in the area.
Registration is now open for the Men's and Women's U23 program. This year features a Men's First Team competing in the Midwest Premier League, and Women's First Team in an exhibition season as we prepare to join competitive amateur league in the near future.
U23 program is open to players entering 8th grade & high school (college bound reserves teams), and current college and recent college grads (First Team).
